Generac 800 Amp ATS 120/240 3 Phase NEMA 3R Cabinet

I recently purchased the Generac 800 Amp ATS 120/240 3 Phase NEMA 3R Cabinet from Hammer Engines. While it does its job and has some strong points, there were a few things that left me feeling a bit underwhelmed.
First, the good: the cabinet itself is well-built and solidly constructed. It definitely feels like it can handle tough conditions, and the NEMA 3R rating gives me peace of mind that it’s weather-resistant for outdoor use. The switching mechanism works effectively for transferring power, and it operates reliably once everything is set up.
However, the installation process was not as smooth as I had hoped. The instructions could have been clearer, and I ended up spending more time than expected figuring out certain steps. For a product in this price range, I think the documentation could be improved significantly.
Another issue I noticed is that it’s quite noisy during operation. While it’s not a dealbreaker, the noise level is noticeable enough to be a little distracting. Additionally, given the cost, I expected a more polished experience overall.
Hammer Engines was great to deal with, and the customer service was responsive when I had questions about the installation.
In the end, it’s a decent product that gets the job done, but it doesn’t quite feel like the premium experience I was expecting at this price point. If you’re okay with putting in a bit of extra effort during setup and can deal with some minor drawbacks, it’s a functional option.
