I’ve been boating for years, and upgrading to the Yanmar 8LV370 was hands down one of the best decisions I’ve made for my vessel. The performance is smooth, quiet, and efficient - this engine has serious torque and barely sips fuel compared to what I was running before. Cold starts are instant, and cruising at higher speeds feels effortless.
What makes it even sweeter? I managed to snag it at a 35% discount, which honestly still feels unreal. For an engine of this quality, that kind of deal is rare. I had to double-check the invoice - no regrets at all.
I’ve taken it out multiple times now, and it hasn’t skipped a beat. If you're serious about reliability and want a diesel that delivers without compromise, this one’s for you. Yanmar nailed it - and I’m still smiling at the price I paid.
I got the Generac 7043 mainly for peace of mind during hurricane season. Living in a coastal area, I needed something that could power the entire house without me scrambling every time the grid goes down. On that front, this unit delivers - it kicks on quickly, handles the whole load without breaking a sweat, and gives us that “nothing happened” feeling during outages.
That said, ownership hasn’t been as smooth as I expected. The generator throws error codes more often than it should, even after routine maintenance. I’ve had to reset the system a few times and even had a sensor go bad within the first year. Also, finding local service that actually knows these units well has been more of a headache than I thought.
I’m keeping it because when it runs, it works great. But don’t assume it’s totally hands-off - plan on staying involved with upkeep, especially if you’re not near a certified Generac tech.
I dropped the B347FK4R7M combo into my ’89 Mustang project, and I’ll say this - it completely changed the car. The 347 stroker delivers that classic small-block Ford attitude but with modern drivability thanks to the EFI setup. Cold starts? No problem. Smooth power delivery and more than enough horsepower for a street build.
Now, it wasn’t perfect out of the crate. The transmission tuning took a bit of trial and error to get where I wanted it - firm but streetable shifts. Also, I had to chase a minor idle issue at first, which turned out to be a sensor connection. Nothing major, but it required some digging.
Once dialed in, though, the combo just works. It feels like it was built for this chassis. Definitely not the cheapest route, but for what you’re getting - solid horsepower, a proven drivetrain, and a clean look under the hood - it’s worth the investment if you're doing a serious build.
I picked up the ATK 427 Dart short block (SPE4271800) for a high-horsepower street/strip build, and it’s exactly the solid foundation I was looking for. I’m pairing it with a set of AFR heads and a custom cam setup, and this thing is built to handle serious power. You can tell right away it’s not a budget piece - everything from the machining to the internal components is high quality.
What really sold me was the Dart SHP block. It's stout, and gives me peace of mind knowing I’ve got the strength for boost or nitrous later down the line. Clearances were right on spec out of the crate - I double-checked everything during the top-end build, and no surprises.
If you're not messing around and want a short block that can take abuse without flinching, this is it. ATK delivered on this one. No fluff, no gimmicks - just a serious bottom end ready to make big power.
I had high hopes for the ATK 383 Stroker (HP101C)-470 HP out of the crate sounded perfect for my street/strip setup. When it runs, it absolutely pulls hard and sounds aggressive. No complaints about the power it delivers.
Unfortunately, the experience hasn’t lived up to the performance numbers. Out of the crate, I noticed signs of poor quality control-loose bolts, paint flaking off, and minor leaks before it even hit the road. After only a few hundred miles, I started hearing valvetrain noise and ended up needing to tear into it sooner than I ever expected.
Customer service was hit or miss, and getting clear answers took more time than it should have. For a high-performance long block at this price point, I expected better reliability and a more polished product. It might be a good engine after some sorting out, but it definitely shouldn’t come needing this much attention.
I’ve had the Ariens Classic 24" (Model 920025) for two winters now, and it’s one of the best equipment purchases I’ve made. This thing powers through heavy, wet snow and doesn’t flinch at packed end-of-driveway piles. The 208cc engine starts reliably every time-even on freezing mornings-and has plenty of muscle to clear a full driveway without slowing down.
The all-steel construction gives it a solid, durable feel, and the controls are straightforward and easy to operate, even with gloves on. Maneuvering it around the property is simple, and the 24" width is a perfect balance of power and size-wide enough to get the job done quickly, but not bulky or hard to handle.
If you're looking for a dependable, no-nonsense snow blower that performs like a beast, the Ariens Classic is it. Worth every penny.
I expected a smoother experience with the 350 HO 333HP turnkey crate engine. Don’t get me wrong-the engine runs strong once it's in. Plenty of power, reliable idle, and it sounds exactly like you'd hope a small-block Chevy would. Performance-wise, it holds its own.
The issue is the "turnkey" label. I still had to swap out a few components, chase down a fuel delivery issue, and spend extra time on small adjustments that shouldn’t be necessary for something marketed as ready to run. Also had to retorque a few things right out of the crate, which was unexpected.
It’s not a bad engine-but for the price and the turnkey branding, I expected fewer headaches. Once dialed in, it performs well. Just be prepared for a little extra work upfront.
I installed the VEGE remanufactured automatic transmission (part #2303-869) a few months back, and so far, it’s been performing really well. Shifts are smooth, and it feels solid under both normal driving and heavier loads. For a reman unit, I was honestly impressed with the build quality and how clean everything looked out of the box.
Install went pretty smoothly, and it lined up well with my setup. The break-in period took a bit of time, and I wish the instructions were a bit more detailed for first-timers.
That said, it’s been a dependable replacement and saved me a good amount over a brand-new unit. If you’re looking for a cost-effective, reliable option, this is definitely worth considering.
I recently purchased the Generac 800 Amp ATS 120/240 3 Phase NEMA 3R Cabinet from Hammer Engines. While it does its job and has some strong points, there were a few things that left me feeling a bit underwhelmed.
First, the good: the cabinet itself is well-built and solidly constructed. It definitely feels like it can handle tough conditions, and the NEMA 3R rating gives me peace of mind that it’s weather-resistant for outdoor use. The switching mechanism works effectively for transferring power, and it operates reliably once everything is set up.
However, the installation process was not as smooth as I had hoped. The instructions could have been clearer, and I ended up spending more time than expected figuring out certain steps. For a product in this price range, I think the documentation could be improved significantly.
Another issue I noticed is that it’s quite noisy during operation. While it’s not a dealbreaker, the noise level is noticeable enough to be a little distracting. Additionally, given the cost, I expected a more polished experience overall.
Hammer Engines was great to deal with, and the customer service was responsive when I had questions about the installation.
In the end, it’s a decent product that gets the job done, but it doesn’t quite feel like the premium experience I was expecting at this price point. If you’re okay with putting in a bit of extra effort during setup and can deal with some minor drawbacks, it’s a functional option.
I purchased the Brassworks 10-27H T-Bucket radiator from Hammer Engines, and overall, I’m really happy with it! Right out of the box, it’s clear this radiator is high-quality. The craftsmanship is excellent, and the brass finish gives it a classic, polished look that fits perfectly with the vintage style of my T-Bucket build.
In terms of performance, it’s done a fantastic job so far. My engine runs cooler even on long drives or in stop-and-go traffic, which was a major reason I went with this radiator. It’s efficient, and I haven’t experienced any overheating issues since installing it. The fit was spot-on, and installation was straightforward, which I really appreciated.
The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price. While I understand you’re paying for quality, it is on the higher end, and I think it could be just a little more affordable. That said, you do get what you pay for, and I don’t regret the investment at all.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with this radiator and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and stylish option for their T-Bucket or hot rod. Hammer Engines delivered a great product, and I’d gladly buy from them again!
I really wanted to like this product, but unfortunately, it let me down in several ways. When I first got it, everything seemed fine. It looked good out of the box, and I was excited to start using it. However, it didn’t take long for me to realize there were some significant issues.
The first problem I noticed was with the performance. It worked fine at the beginning, but after a few uses, it started to act up. Sometimes it wouldn’t respond the way it was supposed to, or it would take longer than expected to do what it’s designed to do. I even followed all the instructions carefully, so I know it wasn’t something I did wrong.
Another issue was the quality. At first glance, it seemed sturdy, but after some use, it became clear that the materials weren’t as durable as I had hoped. A couple of parts started to show signs of wear, even though I wasn’t using it heavily.
I also reached out to customer service when the problems started, and while they were polite, the support wasn’t very helpful. They offered a few troubleshooting tips, but none of them worked, and I felt like I was going in circles. In the end, I didn’t feel like my concerns were fully addressed.
The only reason I’m giving this two stars instead of one is because it does work—just not consistently or reliably for me. I can’t say it’s completely useless, but it’s far from what I was expecting when I made the purchase.
I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone unless you’re okay with dealing with potential issues and some frustration. It’s been a disappointing experience overall, and I regret spending my money on this.
I’ve been using this for a little while, and it’s okay. It does what it’s supposed to, but it doesn’t really stand out in any way. The quality is decent, but I wouldn’t say it’s great it feels a bit average overall.
There were a few times when it didn’t perform as smoothly as I hoped. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it can be a little frustrating when it doesn’t work as expected. That said, it still gets the job done, so I can’t complain too much.
If you need something basic that works, this might be fine for you. But if you’re looking for something exceptional or long-lasting, this might not be the best option. It’s not bad, just not great either.
As a mechanic, I’m always looking for top-quality parts that deliver performance and reliability for my customers, and the QA1 Level 2 Drag Racing Suspension Kit (DK32-FMM4) I sourced from Hammer Engines did not disappoint.
The installation was straightforward, thanks to the precision engineering of the kit. It fit perfectly on my customer’s vehicle and significantly improved their drag racing performance. The enhanced launch consistency and straight-line stability were exactly what they needed to take their car to the next level.

I was hesitant about how well the Cub Cadet 42" Three-Stage Front Mount Snow Blower would handle the heavy snow we get, but after buying it from Hammer Engines, I couldn’t be happier. After the first wet snowfall, this thing was a beast—it easily cleared my long driveway and threw the snow far enough to keep everything neat and manageable.
The setup was straightforward, with each part clearly labeled, making assembly easy even for someone not overly experienced with equipment. The team at Hammer Engines made the process smooth, and their customer service was top-notch.
